EPTAC got their new banner ad by running a design contest:
New Slogan in Search of an Awesome New Ad Campaign to Launch It!
Check out EPTAC's Banner ad contest…
We are a training and consulting company for the electronics industry. Basically we provide solder training and IPC (our licensing body) certification to folks that assembly electronic components on to printed circuit boards. Our web site is www.eptac.com. We training predominately through the United States and Canada. You can download our app from http://www.eptacapp.com
What's your vision?
We would like to create a new marketing campaign for the company to run several months promoting us. We have a slogan "because it's all about the soldering..." (it is trade marked - ™) that we run on another site, but I would like to incorporate it into EPTAC's banner ads now. I am not sure where to tell you to go with this. I guess that is why we are asking for help and some design ideas. Don't use photos of people, or images of soldering irons or tips. Not original enough. Maybe this is a subtitle to some larger idea, like "Experience that Cares", "more than just a training company", "invest in your future", "we are EPTAC", "What would you like to learn today?", or some other catch phrase which obviously eludes us at the moment. Or maybe the design is clean enough with the slogan and move from there? We run banner ads in various trade emailed newsletters and on web sites that are specific to the electronics industry. They are in a nutshell, getting boring. There are twelve (12) sizes listed below. We market in the following publications: http://www.circuitnet.com http://www.smtonline.com http://www.circuitsassembly.com http://www.canadianelectronics.ca http://www.pcbdesign007.com/pages/pcbdesign007.cgi http://pcdandf.com/cms/ We are looking for something cool, that gives us a professional image and at the same time is different enough to makes us look like something you want to learn more about. I like simple designs with white space, that is not heavy with graphics. Because of the different sizes, you need to watch what is designed so that it can be shaped to fit. We have gone to simpler designs for the smaller ads, i.e. different from the larger ones, just so that we could create something cool in the larger ones. The trick is to create something interesting for what can be a boring industry at times.
These are the banner ad sizes we require. Static is fine in .jpg or .png format: 970x90 900x100 728x90 700x90 468x60 320x50 300x250 165x600 165x165 160x300 125x125 120x300 I have included our logos, our governing body logo and an idea that was on a drink coaster that we had promoting our app.
