Having worked in neuroscience and psychological research for over ten years, both in academia and in the private sector, I can tell you from experience that the truth is stranger than fiction. Wrangling radioactive monkeys for a living presents many opportunities for living nightmares. I started writing fiction in response to my therapists imploring me to keep a journal. I write about my experiences but assign them to fictional characters, giving me distance from reality but allowing me to get it out on paper. I can’t help but stand back and marvel at everything that can go wrong in biomedical research as well as in my personal life. Fortunately for fiction writers, that is what people want to read about, things going wrong. My dark sense of humor takes care of the rest. I am a combat veteran. I hold a BS in neuroscience from The University of Michigan and an MBA from Western Michigan University.
Time Immemorial is a sci-fi psychological thriller about a struggling college professor’s quest to fund an invention that can record, store, and implant memories. Such an ambitious undertaking requires the help of a militant angel investor, the pioneering principal of an alternative learning academy, and an all too familiar true love. There’s one big problem, he is continuously confronted by a past that can’t possibly be his own. Sterling Hope can’t trust anyone, not even himself.
Fans of mind-bending philosophy (The Matrix), those curious about mental illness from the protagonist's post of view (Beautiful Mind), and forward-thinking individuals interested in technology of the not-so-distant future (The Terminator). Fans of Eternal Sunshine in the Spotless Mind, The Bourne series, and Total Recall would enjoy this book. Most people wish that they could do more with their lives. Many blame their past. Almost nobody realizes that your past does not define your future.

Susan is amazing! I was such a high maintenance newbie with my first book and she was so kind and patient throughout the whole process. She not only absolutely nailed the cover I was looking for, she also educated me so much about all things book covers, spines, etc. Very much looking forward to working with her on my next book!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
