JAZZ HISTORY FOR BEGINNERS The Inspiring Story of Jazz Legends, Origins, Cities and How It Entertained While Integrating the Races
The book demystifies jazz for everyone. It is a plainspoken book for the layperson, telling the story of jazz through its inspiring musicians, cities and how it brought the races together from its origins to the present.
The jazz fanbase is diverse, like the music itself. Depending on the style fans are mostly male between the ages of 25 and 55. They are married with a family and are mostly white. They earn between $35-100,000 per year. They enjoy all kinds of music and want to be entertained, but don't want to have a music lecture. They are urban.
A clean, attractive font, sans serif, contrasting background, a photograph or other image which could only depict jazz music, not any other kind. Playful is good, since this is not a textbook.
What to avoid
Images that are NOT topic resonant and do not stand alone, without-title and subtitle to evoke jazz. Here are covers which work, or almost work: 1st cover below--nice bold design but not resonant specifically with Jazz. The other two work as topic-resonant and as designs. Avoid an overly busy design.

I liked that Mr.TK really listened to my feedback and came back with quality revisions that fit my vision. He was really great to work and communicate with.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
