Food & Drink
I am a forager of wild edible plants, and also write wild edible cookbooks for foodies NOT survivalists or bushcrafters, and most of my clients are women.
What's your vision?
I require a book cover designed for my new recipe book "The Eatweeds Cookbook", containing recipes for over 50 wild edible plants. It will be print on demand using lulu.com, and I have attached the templates with the ReadMe instructions... it will also require a barcode and ISBN. The ISBN is: 978-0-9934672-0-2 I have attached some images that I would like used, but only if you feel they are appropriate. The Puck (the human eating the flower) logo attached needs to have the wordage (Eat something wild everyday & www.foragingcourses.com) removed, so please only use the inner image. I have also attached a few flower illustrations, they will need cleaning up, but would be great if somehow they could be worked in if at all. However I really like the Puck image, and maybe that on its own would be better. I like minimalism and not clutter, and the cover needs to have a 'modern bygone' feel to it, if that makes sense, or even something quite punk (as in punk rock music from late 1970's or early 1980's which is what the Puck logo was based on) would be interesting. The font used in the book is Goudy Old Style... But I leave the feel of the project up to you... I understand the need for creative freedom! The spine and back cover RGB colour needs to be around F80087, so a bright pink vibrant colour. The front I would like in a complementing bright vibrant green... but I am unsure at this stage for the front colour. What do you think? I like the pink and green of this book, see http://www.wildfermentation.com/wild-fermentation/ Although the green shows a bit insipid, and not as vibrant as the actual book. It's more vibrant & bright...
The back of the book text will be something along the lines of: -START- "In this delightful wild food recipe book forager Robin Harford covers over 50 wild edible plants with simple, quick and easy to prepare recipes you can create in your kitchen. Each plant is beautifully illustrated with a Victorian botanical wood block print. Having foraged for his daily supper for over ten years, these recipes come directly from his kitchen and have been field tested by hundreds of people on his foraging courses making this recipe book perfect for wild food lovers and cooks everywhere." -END- Also somewhere I want the strapline "Eat something wild every day" included.
