I am a law professor who writes about persistent racial inequality in wealth, jobs, schools and housing.
What's your vision?
My law school is holding an event that will celebrate my new book, "Reproducing Racism: How Everyday Choices Lock In White Advantage." We would like art for the invitation. In contrast to the book cover (attached), we are hoping for something more artistic. We envision something that deconstructs the book cover to create a collage, maybe to include faded text from the book. In particular, we want the icons from the book cover (the book, the white figure, the briefcase and so on) used--you need not use them all, but many of them. We will also attach some color schemes, which are essentially muted color versions of those used in the book. Muted tones are good, but designers can depart from those we have selected.
In the collage I have attached, notice the animals and figures are placed against multicolored backgrounds with blurred boundaries. I also like the torn out look of the Villegle.
