What's your vision?
We are looking for a 3D app icon that can also be utilized as a logo (ie. the camera for Instagram). Initial thoughts are to have a retro font (ie. Billabong for Instagram) written out for 'curbslide' (all lower case) to accompany the icon but not appear inside it. We're open to seeing multiple options for the font as long as they portray a similar retro look. The name curbslide is a play off of the word 'curbside' which means sidewalk. The aspect of 'sliding' is incorporated throughout the functionality of the mobile platform as users swipe/slide from one restaurant or dish to the next. Users can use curbslide to see what their friends favorite restaurants or dishes are and send options to coordinate a breakfast, lunch or dinner together. Ultimately, we are looking for a retro/vintage 3D image for the icon that symbolizes restaurants and dining out or a 3 dimensional creative representation of our offering. Please refrain from using overly obvious restaurant related items like cutlery, bite marks, chef hats, dishes or other food related images apart of the logo unless they are incorporated in a very subtle and creative manner. Feel free to test out the look of retro restaurant signs similar to ones we have attached here or others you find useful. This is not the only route to go but one we feel is worth exploring. Map pins can also be incorporated and imagery for sidewalks may be used as well. Street signs or sidewalk imagery such as graffiti may be explored (possibly 3D art imagery on a sidewalk). If and when possible the color palette to emphasize is a mix of orange, red and yellow. An example image has been uploaded to show the colors we're are going for.
Images attached are meant for inspiration as it pertains to colors, look and feel and ideas to be incorporated.
