I work with teachers, parents, & students teaching, training, and consulting to help students with dyslexia learn how to use technology to accommodate themselves so they can excel academically. You can see more about my work at my webpage DyslexiaTech.com.
What's your vision?
I need an icon for an iOS app, Audio Exam Creator and Player. This app gives teachers an easy way to create a read aloud test for students who have a print disability and need this accommodation. Most teachers provide read aloud testing by standing or sitting with a student and reading test questions so the teacher can find out if the student knows the answer. The iOS app you will be creating an icon for gives the teachers and easy way to record test questions and gives the student a superior way of hearing those test questions read aloud with human speech on a handheld device. What do I want the button or icon to do? Look good, perhaps communicate what the app is, or at least be consistent with what the app does. Since I started the contest I have seen some entries that will work for me, because they are attractive and use the name of the app. These designs are three-dimensional and I may end up going with one of them. However, I read the news about Apple's change in design guidelines for their app buttons, flat design, and perhaps limited color palette. I realize that I should consider some designs that are consistent with what Apple is going to require. I would like to see designers submit entries that will be consistent with Apple's new look. I would also like to see some new designs that look good and that are consistent with the idea of an audio exam, two-dimensional or three-dimensional.
