We are a small but committed technology agency that works primarily in partnership with independent designers and creative agencies to deliver excellent web sites, mobile and desktop applications. We pride ourselves on prompt and reliable delivery of complicated technical projects that can supports the first rate User Experience designed by the creatives we work with. While we do work independently with clients when design/UI is less relevant to the project, our preferred method of operating is to work with top notch designers with a creative vision so the final product has been crafted and delivered by experts end-to-end. Our company tagline is "Technical muscle behind creative genius". The tagline is intentionally playful with an underlying message of an extremely reliable service combining expertise in both fields. I think it lends itself to some interesting visual messaging, underlying which is our desire (and capability) to deliver first class software in support of first class creativity.
What's your vision?
We are looking for two graphics (that would be swapped as desired) that convey this on the page of our (horribly out of date) home page: www.spottmedia.com Once these are agreed we will need: * Tweaks to the topic icons underneath (if necessary to keep the page design consistent) * Tweaking of the logo (also if necessary see comments on this in next section) * Design of some peripheral elements specifically business cards, a document template (for quotes and formal documents) and if possible a company t-shirt with new graphic tag-line and our domain The attached graphic highlights the 4 areas that require attention, the basic site design/structure does not need to be changed.
The main task is to update the central graphic, adding our updated tagline and a much more interesting visual that's not quite so boring and irrelevant to our approach. In my mind I'm expecting some sort of vector sketched graphic in a cartoony style as opposed to a photo, that encapsulates our tag-line visually e.g. symbols of strength and reliability; supporting light, agile, creativity. It's intended to be fun and modern; ensuring we appear "human" while also being able to handle tough technical assignments. Think strong man/woman/robot/thing with an artist doing something creative perched on one hand, and the other hand writing code on a screen. This would be alongside/above/below the actual tag-line as per the current design. While this isn't intended as a graphical guide, the picture from Mad Max attached sums up the sort of symbiosis I want to express quite nicely! In terms of the graphics themselves I have visions of a cartoony style sketch in a style similar to those attached, mostly black and white (or grey scale) with orange accents as per the logo. I'm certainly open to different ideas however. Naturally the graphic/tone will have knock on effects on the site, the three section icon graphics may need changing. From this too may also stem ideas for an adjustment to the current logo, which we're neither unhappy nor elated with. It's simple and inoffensive, but it was designed without the tagline/focus we have now so if something springs out then we would love to see it. Once those designs are agreed we will then need business cards that reuse the central graphic theme (if needed on the back of the card) and have the tag line as well as standard business card elements. We will of course in future re purpose source graphics for use in different contexts as required so ideally all results will be delivered in vector format, should there be further graphics needed we'll look at a separate project. We will be reusing the logo and tag line for team t-shirts. As a company we see our relationship with designers being genuinely symbiotic, and collectively better than the sum of the two parts. Two separate but dependent expert elements doing what they do best together to produce an amazing outcome. Hopefully this will come across in these designs.
