The Australia Institute is the country’s most influential progressive think tank. Based in Canberra, it conducts research on a broad range of economic, social and environmental issues in order to inform public debate and bring greater accountability to the democratic process. The Institute is funded by donations from philanthropic trusts and individuals, and commissioned research. With no formal political or commercial ties, the Institute is in a position to maintain its independence while advancing a vision for a fair and progressive Australia.
What's your vision?
The aim of this infographic is to compare the hype around the sustainability of Australian banks and the reality of how sustainable they actually are. The title of the graphic should be something like ‘How sustainable are the Big 4?’ This graphic will have two separate parts. One that will represent the hype around the banks sustainability and one that will represent the reality. All the info that you will need for the graphic and the data on the ‘hype’ and the ‘reality’ is in an attached document. I think it will work well if you split the page in half. The left hand side should represent the ‘hype’ around each of the four banks. I think it would look good if this side of the page was brightly coloured like it represented an awards ceremony. Then on the left hand side of the page it should look like you are drawing back a curtain to uncover the ‘reality’. This side of the page should be dark and represent fossil fuels (eg/ maybe draw pollution into this part of the graphic). The ‘hype’ and the ‘reality’ should be represented for all 4 banks. I think it would work best if they are placed in a list down the page. We want to include the banks logos but it is important that you draw your own version of their logos because we do not have the license to reproduce their logos. If you have any questions please let me know.
To see past examples of our graphics please see our tumblr page: http://australiainstitute.tumblr.com/ The graphic needs to be A4 in size.
