Story to tell in the infographic
The aim is to take the attached data file and create an impressive and polished looking infographic that shows at a glance the global distribution of customers and their respective tiers. Several ideas have been floated above, however, the way this data is conveyed is largely up to the creative genius of the person selected.
Data to include in the infographic
I would like a heat map of the globe with 4 numeric values displayed per country. Data sample: Country_Code,Customer_Count,Customer_Tier,Country US,1405236,1,UNITED_STATES_OF_AMERICA US,365113,2,UNITED_STATES_OF_AMERICA US,1713376,3,UNITED_STATES_OF_AMERICA US,3045259,4,UNITED_STATES_OF_AMERICA UY,856,1,URUGUAY UY,144,2,URUGUAY UY,1561,3,URUGUAY UY,2154,4,URUGUAY UZ,136,1,UZBEKISTAN UZ,24,2,UZBEKISTAN UZ,300,3,UZBEKISTAN UZ,688,4,UZBEKISTAN The data includes most countries in the world along with 4 tiers associated with them in the format above. We want the countries that have higher counts to be brighter or show "more heat" than those countries with lower counts. I am struggling to conceive of a way to professionally show all 4 tiers within each country. I would consider 4 global heat maps with one map per tier, or if you can think of an elegant way to include all 4 tiers in the same map, I would be interested. I would also consider 1 heat map with Customer_Counts rolled into one # and then 4 pie charts with the top 25 countries (or other accompanied infographics) illustrating the different tiers.
Elements to include in the infographic
The heat map of the globe is critical. It will show at a glance which countries have a higher concentration of customers. I am open to discussion on how the tiers get factored into the infographic.
