This romantic comedy novel is meant to be fun, but it’s also a plea to keep family memories alive for future generations. It is set in two different times: Chicago in the 1950s and Arizona in 2019. The starting point of the design was the desert painting. In fact, I did it in a way that simulates the technic and texture of the paint and, to make it more real, I also added some brushes on the side, as if they were placed on the book itself. As the artistic theme is a central point of the story, I gathered in this painting several “key details” that are quite important to the plot. The elements at the top of the cover make reference to Italian food, one of the “unexpected” and funny aspects in the story. The Chicago painting is presented as a symbolic representation of the past: the old photograph that brings the memories of the 1950s. It is a detail of a real painting created by Anne Maria Cina, who granted permission to the author to include it on the back cover.

I had an idea from the start of the contest because the shop is in Abu Dhabi and there are sand dunes and desert beauty. The top part of the logo is the aurora borealis and the lower part are the sand dunes, so made a scenery logo in a shape of a cake piece :) An awesome project to be a part of.

The type is a simple, hand-drawn sans serif that naturally fits into the design.

CH is Mortgage Broker that demanded a southwestern feel to the logo. The main goal was to present a rustic house in the west with its surroundings to bring the whole feel closer to the viewer. It`s all there: The nice old cozy house, the cactuses in the desert with the desert rocks rising above it in the distance, the negative space of the mountains behind, and the sun above all of the elements on the top pictured as red half-circle behind the mountains. The logo is shown also with a wider picture and scenery at the bottom with the surroundings seen better with more details...

Article Film & Music Production Logo Design

Logo Design for a film and music production company with an in-house recording studio based in San Diego. The client envisioned an organic, desert-themed design that features some of the following elements: a snake, a lightning bolt, and a skull. We explored a couple of options with two and three of the elements, but settled on a simpler solution. The hand-drawn graphic is accompanied by simple and legible sans serif type in a circular lockup. The color palette is monochromatic to give the design a mature, more sophisticated feel.

To incorporate an "Arizona" theme, each different label had a unique cactus in the background, namely: Saguaro, Cholla, Yucca, Prickly pear. And each flavor of Kumbucha and Jun were given a different color. Kombucha is a fermented, slightly alcoholic, lightly effervescent, sweetened black or green tea drink commonly intended as a functional beverage for its supposed health benefits.

It is a book that promotes tolerance and encourages reflection on the sharing of resources and wealth.
