glawsonk got their new landing page design by running a design contest:
PROFESSIONAL DESIGN NEEDED for innovative SAT(r) Prep Company
Check out glawsonk's Landing page design contest…
This website will be the landing page for an SAT Test Prep company that offers 5-hour SAT seminars to high-school students. We teach an innovative approach to test prep that has proven highly effective for increasing student test performance. Our target audience are PARENTS of high-school students.
Colors/texture/proportionality of website are VERY important. The colors should be sturdy, somewhat bold, but inviting. We want a sort of "wisdom" feel to be created with the colors. Thinking some combination of darker green and brown might work - to fit with the "three leaf" name, but other colors might work too. We don't want it to feel too dark. Just professional. Shapes and texture should be proportional. We want the website to be CLEAN and SIMPLE and professional. Gut feeling is that everything on the page should be centered, but we'd like to see mockups of the page aligned left-side too.
Elements to include in the landing page
We want to landing page to be very simple, intuitive, beautifully designed, proportional, and to leave parents wanting to know more (generate email signups). The page needs to have three main things: email form box (i.e., "interested? get more information"); a "customer testimonial" section below the email form box that includes headshots (circular photo) of three-four parents or students paired with a quote (beneath photo) about our seminars; and an "about us" section at the bottom of the landing page that includes picture of the founder paired with text box. The only menu buttons on the page are "home," "our customers," and "about us." These buttons will not take customers to separate pages, just to the designated area for each of these on the landing page (see databracket.com).
We do not have a definite logo yet, so if you find a three-leaf related logo design that works well with the landing page, feel free to include it.
