The Gift of Soup that Warms Your Soul
Food & Drink
I am starting a retail business that sends high quality, homestyle/artisnal, organic soups as a gift. The inspiration comes from my love of cooking for family and friends and the enjoyment of sharing a meal made with care for people you care about. The audience is really anyone that is looking for an alternative to flowers, chocolates or alcohol gifts and want something much more personal than sending a gift card which likely never gets used. Gifting occasions include: college student care packages, corporate gifts, new baby or new home occasions, get well soon, something warm from the heart etc. It is important that the colors and approach reflect high quality, premium and specialness that is gender appropriate for both men and women. The packaging that I will be using is similar to a glass Ball Mason jar or a buckle locking lid glass canister with a handwritten gift tag tied on with a ribbon or some type of attractive twine. Label design will follow as a second project for the winner. PLEASE NOTE: the logo I am looking for should not be too homespun/suzy home-maker or "too cute" and not something that looks like you bought it at a grocery store. It is also important to consider food friendly colors. It needs to be easy to read and must contain all elements of the name as it is the web address as well "Love-n-Spoonfuls". I would prefer the font to be more formal than casual - not like scribble or lazy cursive, bolder than to fine, and it can incorporate an element like a spoon or ladle or heart to added concept reinforcement if you think it would be a strong element (do not feel this is required though). There is a similar company called "Spoonfuls of Comfort" that is using a vintage inspired logo. PLEASE LOOK AT THEIR WEB SITE: www.spoonfulsofcomfort.com before you begin. They do a nice job and I do like the update vintage style they use with the flourishes that remind you of soup ladles/spoons, but I do not want to copy them. The branding needs to be competitively differentiating. The last component of my business incorporates a philanthropic element where every gift ordered will provide a warm bowl of soup for those in need. The tag line that I am working with presently is: "The gift of soup that warms your soul." I have over 20 years in big CPG corporate marketing and decided to jump out and do something I love, that I want to share, and that will make both the givers and receivers feel that they are cared for and someone special. Most of all, I want to put something positive into the universe and give something back to help ease the burdens we all face, even if it is only with a bowl of warm soup. I really look forward to seeing what you come up with and believe that a full host of related project designs will follow. There is a lot to do! Yay!
