Food & Drink
Client has a cafe that handcrafts chocolates right on site. The Cafe features espresso, coffee, hot chocolate, scones, cupcakes, desserts, chocolates, panini's, sandwiches, soups, etc. The focus is on their specialty chocolate. The personality of the business is summarized as follows: handcrafted, imperfectly perfect, and homemade. The experience: down to earth, feet on the ground, hospitable like when someone comes over to your house for a visit, simple, and a place you can visit and feel comfortable in. The focal points are as follows: consistent and reliable, knowing what people want (ie. engaged and agile), and mastery in chocolate. Positioning statement: to be the "it" place and for the average person. Target audience: average person in local community.
Logo types to explore
Client plans to branch out into other market segments, so the logo should not be based on a café per se, but more focused on "chocolate". When discussing logo/font with client, she emphasized the following:barn, old wood, organic, rustic, a little cursive, simple and clean. Please see the attached document with examples of what the client likes.

She understood perfectly what our brief and translated it into a logo that everybody on our team loved on first sight. Communication was absolutely great and she was patient enough to give us enough variations to really find the one perfect design for us. Highly recommended.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
