Food & Drink
We are a young couple, only starting to make wines from our vineyards in the Rhône valley (France). we grow our vineyard in biodynamic (one step further than organic, very conscious of our land and respecting our soils and nature) without being hippies. We sell to restaurants and boutique wine shops, trendy places, and gastro pubs, bistros chic, gastronomic restaurants, places where there's someone in charge of a wine list and who cares for it and for telling stories - in France and worldwide. Our target is people who love food and having a good moment at the table, in their 30's-40's, from hipsters to business trendy to wine lovers, with culture, sensitive to respecting nature and who tend to go for organic food. On the logo, please no vine leaf, no glass, no grape. GRAPHICAL ELEMENT: The 3 graphical elements combined need to appear: for nature, nurturing, growing: A TREE or any IDEA of CULTIVATION ; for 'gourmandise' (loving eating), indulging with wine and food : A SNAKE (from Adam & Eve capital sin) ; for history and time passed and future : A CLOCK, or TIME ARROWS, or HOURGLASS or any other idea. Please see in the brief some images we've added to give further directions. Many thanks !!!! Nelly and Arnaud
the logo is our first step, and as soon as the logo is chosen, we'll launch a second steps to design our first wine label. The story we want to tell: we are Arnaud De Boel and Nelly France, and we have just started our little family with a baby boy and a coming baby girl. Got married last year, and are now the De Boel France family. Arnaud is belgian, Nelly french. We have been travelling the world, lived overseas, met in New Zealand and came back to settle in France in 2011. Since then Nelly has worked in sales for a top rhone winery, and has now started her own negate winery (wines purchased from small winemakers and sold, but not made from her vineyards). Arnaud works as winemaker for another recognized small winery. Since spring 2016, we have started to plant our own vineyards in Cornas, IGP Collines Rhodaniennes and St Joseph. We will be launching our first St Joseph 2016 early next year, called ‘Rue des Poulies’. Our winery is called Famille De Boel France, but we will simply sign our back labels under 'Arnaud & Nelly' which corresponds more to our easy going temper. our original idea about a logo was to show both our love for wine and food, however we want to stay out of all classical knife and fork, or vine leaves drawings. We don't necessarily look for a very illustrated logo, as our labels will all carry a name of wine that will be illustrated it self. For our labels, we have decided on names of wines that have a Historical link with food - ex. 'Rue des Poulies' (which means Pulleys Street') was the name of the street where the first ever restaurant was established in France just before the french revolution, we'll have another wine named after the first known cooking book, or another after the name of a well know roman who use to identify the origins of oysters in blind tasting etc. So we'd love our logo to show that link between wine and food, in a modern yet classical way as wine rarely goes well with fully modern when we want to talk to connoisseurs like sommeliers but also clients who like to find their marks and tend to think cheap and lesser quality if the design is too modern. We however don't want to be only classical has we leave in today's world! we love the idea of hand writing, but not gothic or beckham tattoos, more like botanical or chalk boards. Attached: a logo that we got made for our wedding and thought about keeping for our wines, but a little too much out of the classical wine marks, (better for our beer). / 3 botanical drawings we like /
