natalyy got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create a logo for the MIT Operations Research Center, #1 department in analytics in the world
Check out natalyy's Logo design contest…
The Operations Research Center (ORC) is a renowned department of analytics and data science at the famous MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). It graduates about 15-20 PhD students every year who get placed as professors at Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, and other famous universities. Many of them also go to Facebook, Google, Linkedin and other tech companies which are interested in analytics and data science talent. The ORC prides itself to deliver: 1. High quality research 2. Long tradition (it is the first big data and analytics academic program in the world!) 3. Pioneer and the top program in analytics and data science 4. Impact on the world (its research has created substantial effect on the world, from airline dynamic pricing, retail optimization to healthcare analytics) Those are the four cornerstones of the MIT ORC department. The ORC is looking into adopting a new logo that exactly symbolizes the four components: - Analytics and data science - High quality - Long history (exists since 1960) - Impact on the world Our research can be divided into two major components: 1. Predictive Analytics: Machine learning to understand patterns in data and predict the future 2. Prescriptive Analytics" Optimization models to maximize profit, minimize costs, smoothen workload, etc. (among few of the problems we try to solve is optimizing airline scheduling, optimizing retail inventory, optimizing and personalizing diabetes and cancer treatments)
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors: Reds: Energy, action, passion and love. Blues: Knowledge, trust, calm and honesty. Light neutrals: Purity, balance and sophistication.
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their logo design.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
natalyy collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
