a.m.b. got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Design a new logo for U of Next
Check out a.m.b.'s Logo design contest…
develop beyond understanding
https://www.uofnext.com/ U of Next (short for "University of Next") provides developmental programs and hosts long-term learning communities. (note that the site isn't finished and that a couple of the program and community pages have place-holder content)
Other color requirements
This color for at least part of the design: R: 240 G: 65 B: 36 Overall, I've been going with this color and shades of gray - and I'm open to other options if they work with the site.
While it's still in development, I'd encourage you to look at the website to get a sense of the business. NOTE: while I'd ideally like a logo that perfectly matches the site's look/colors/etc., I'm open to modifying the site based on the final logo. I'm more providing it to give you a sense of the business: https://www.uofnext.com/ Overall the feel of the business and it's offerings is "challenge you but support you", a bit in your face but not in an authoritarian way. There's also an element of engaging with things (ideas, skills) that are non-linear and more grounded in inquiry (if you watch the TED talk on homepage of website, you'll get a sense of that). I'd love the logo to embody these things in some way: mysterious but grounded, new but proven, confrontational but compassionate - and overall, a sense of possibility, that engagement with us will help you move to your "Next". And, maybe I just need a circle with a "UofN" in the center - whadda I know about design, that's your expertise :-) PS, I would very much prefer you use Centrale Sans (regular, bold, and/or thin) in the logo please! (I'd be open to fonts that complement Centrale Sans but I really like that font am trying to make it "standard" for U of Next and the other business we're launching) PPS, I like the idea of "NEXT" having the middle line of the E be an arrow that blends into the X. You absolutely don't have to use this in your design, but I like the visual so if you found a way to incorporate it, that'd be a bonus Thanks!
