Wild, Alaska, Sustainable
Food & Drink
We are a commercial fishing family in Alaska and we sell our catch to health conscious foodies who want to know the source of their food. Many are families and they're willing to pay more for an exceptionally delicious product.
We like the idea of using mountains, a wild salmon tail, a salmon, or an anchor in the logo. Please no trees, boats, maps of Alaska or farmed Atlantic salmon (I attached a photo of a wild sockeye salmon- the differences are minor, but important to us!) It's important that it looks clean, fresh, and organic. This logo will be used in our label that goes directly on our fish. Our top seller is sockeye salmon, which has bright red flesh, so we want it to pop against it. We have used our current logo for 4 years and have outgrown it. It was created by a friend and it's not something that really excites us, but it worked to get our business to a good place. We want something new and cool that we're excited to represent our direct market seafood business. Key words that help sell our fish are wild, sustainable, and Alaska. Attached is our current logo, one of our current labels, and couple logos of competitors. They've copied a lot of what we do, and their look is way cooler than ours, so we need to keep up! I think the logo for Citizen Salmon is a bit too busy. I like how they incorporated the salmon and mountains, though. I also attached the logo for Bristol Bay Sockeye. This is a nonprofit that represents us, and other fisherman in Bristol Bay, where we fish. They did a lot of market research to influence this logo. It's not exactly my taste, but I do think it's pretty cool and there's something to be said for all the research that went into figuring out how important it is to target millennials (which I am one of!) Most of our customers are a bit older, but we would like to attract younger customers as well. I think a new, fresh logo will really help with that.
