Logo types to explore
We are looking for a logo for our brand. The brand name is “Druids Grove”, which is reminiscent of the sacred wooded areas protected ancient Druids. These Druids were stewards of nature who worshiped the earth and its creatures. They are closely associated with ancient Celtic cultures particularly in what is now England, Ireland and Scotland as well as parts of continental Europe. The logo will contain both a logotype and a graphic which may be used together or separately to represent the brand. The logotype must use ONE of the fonts that we have uploaded in a zip file for this project. Do not use more than one of them in any individual design. You may embellish these as you see fit to represent the brand. The Nelson fonts also have a number of interesting Glyph variations for each letter. The graphic should be based either on the “Green Man” or the Celtic Tree of Life, but not both. We have uploaded a number of reference images of both of these symbols from which you can draw inspiration. The graphic may be incorporated into the logotype but should also be able to stand on its own if necessary. The Green Man is a representation of a face surrounded by or made from leaves. Branches or vines may sprout from the nose, mouth, nostrils or other parts of the face and these shoots may bear flowers or fruit. Two plants that were specifically revered by Druids were holly bushes and oak trees. You may want to keep that in mind if you choose to work with the Green Man concept. The style of the image should be classic and upscale. It can be either detailed like a pen and ink or very graphic. It should not feel like a cartoon or a child’s mascot. The Tree of Life alludes to the interconnection of all life on our planet and serves as a metaphor for common descent in the evolutionary sense. The term tree of life may also be used as a synonym for sacred tree. The Celtic Tree of Life symbol is in part based on ancient Celtic veneration of trees and traditional Celtic designs. The primary color palette should be greens and earth tones. Have fun with it! ***IMPORTANT: Please follow our general comments under the contest.
