j3r3my got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Help Alberta Beers with a new logo

Food & Drink
Exclusive coverage of beers being brewed, sold and consumed in and around Alberta. Focusing mainly on local Craft Brewers, suppliers and craft-beer-establishments, Alberta Beers aims to provide insight into the fast growing craft beer business in Alberta.
Logo types to explore
Web-site and any print materials will use a font chosen from Google Web Fonts. Most likely a sans-serif font like Maven Pro or Oxygen. Not to limit designs to these fonts but a script font wouldn't work. Many beer blogger sites have the wheat or barley stalks, hop cones, frothy beer mugs and even the Canadian Maple leaf which are not elements I'd be looking for unless they're subtle or integrated with the name (similar to the Oregon Distillers logo in the examples I've provided.) I like the Austin Beerworks logo(s) as they are simple, clean, have a vintage look and would look awesome emblazoned on a pint glass... This web-site will feature Alberta micro-breweries, nano-breweries, home-brewers and various craft-beer related events around the Province. A generic logo featuring elements of Alberta or brewing would be great and as mentioned I like the vintage-feel to the logos. Please feel free to ask about any design related questions.
