We support a soft conversion plan, whereas, the United States would be dual-measured in consumption and in its public life, inch-pound or metric in production (according to each firm’s own choice), and metric-only in the schools.

Math teachers would save 71 days of Math class time annually by teaching only Metric and they would save an additional 11 days by dropping the portion of instruction on factions tied to learning the inch-pound system- giving US students an additional 82 days of Math instruction and greater mastery of the concepts. Most studies have suggested that by teaching two systems, US students do not tend master either system; therefore, creating a very poor mathematical and scientific foundation to build upon.
