read got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Logo for akgmag.com
Check out read's Logo design contest…
Hello, We need a logo for our new website at akgmag.com. The site will feature well edited articles on just about any topic you can think of. There will be articles on anything from book reviews, how-to, travel, webdesign, pets, you name it. In short our goal is to create a website that will "inform and entertain and introduce new websites and services in the process. It would be nice to see some elements within the logo that aren't so much a literal reference to "oldfashioned"publishing (book, pages, quill), but more metaphorical or abstract or subliminal (people, modern, internet, websites, variety, web 2.0 etc.).
What's your vision?
Logo should be: - friendly and inviting - possibly some element that hints on "publishing" - not too detailed; should look good in print as well - we thought all lower case letters might look good, but if you have a good idea for a mix of upper and lower case, go for it - our website will be redesigned to go with the logo, so don't feel constricted by the colors currently on there
We need different versions of the logo: - png and jpg format - higher resolution (300 or up) photoshop for print
- no mascot - nothing that looks "corporate" - nothing "cute" like flowers or rainbows
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Logo design starts at €269.
