Logo/app icon for educational app

Getting smarter, one card at a time.
Brief with examples describing what I'm looking for: https://paper.dropbox.com/doc/Decks-Design-Brief-Logo--APWB3jkVsZFxjtd0uTecJ_FoAg-knMmgjptz3VZKCKoVdXrp Please don't use the graduation cap as a logo. Overall I prefer abstract designs. About the project: I'm a solo designer/developer building a simple flash cards app called Decks. I have built the app primarily for myself but am now intending to publish it on the App Store too, as I have found some utility in it. Why I built the app: last year I went back to Japan after a long while and wanted to brush up my Japanese. I've found that most apps out there were either too playful or too dictatorial in regards to their offered studying methods. I wanted a basic vocabulary trainer or in other words: flash cards. I believe people who are more serious about their studying (e.g. whenever they have a given set of vocabulary they need to practice or study for a test) will find the app useful. Or people who currently use Anki might find it useful too.
Other color requirements
The overall color scheme is white/gray but I allow users to add colors to their decks. Among others I currently use these colors as categories in my product: 47525D 86C49A 72B6EC BD10E0 FCE897 ED7A6F
I'm looking for a logo that works well as an app icon on iOS. I'll also use it on a website so please also show a version that includes the brand name 'Decks'. The slogan does not have to be incorporated. Please don't use the typical graduation cap as the app icon - it is not what I'm looking for.
