Aurora303 needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 72 designs submitted by 25 freelance designers.
This competition is to see who can do the best (subtle) redesign of the existing diyAudio.com logo. Two winners - $150 first place and $50 second place. The winners will be chosen on a combination of their overall best design and the introduction of original \"non-obvious\" design elements or improvements. This is my 9th SP competition, every one with a happy and paid winner, so you can be assured of prompt payment.

In other words, who has really contributed the most innovative designs.
If you introduce original \"non-obvious\" design elements or improvements and someone else \"borrows\" them, you may still be chosen as a winner for your innovation.
Goals:
* Preserve the \"spirit\" of the original design and colors (Subtle redesign!)
* Tweak the font (probably subtly) to make it look distinct and unique
* Introduce a more \"brandable\" logo
* Use colors / design suitable for screen printing / merchandise
* Professionaly designed look (modern/crisp/sharp)
Notes:
* The speakers present in the current design aren\'t critical, and certainly can\'t be screen printed, so it\'s ok to lose them. Don\'t worry about including them in the design. If you\'re going to design an \"image\", better to focus on a proper logo-style image.
History:
We\'ve had a logo competition in the past on the website (see <a href=\"http://www.neodisco.com/diylogos/\">http://www.neodisco.com/diylogos/ for all previously submitted designs) and while we had lots of entries, nothing has really stood out as being an order of magnitude better than the original. With this competition the scope is much more narrow however - take the original and remake it better. I hope we\'ll get something out of this that we will actually use as we move diyAudio.com forward this year.
This is the 9th competition I\'ve run on SPF, though this is being done under a new moniker (old moniker \"michelangelo\") to distinguish between the businesses. It\'s being run with cash from my own pocket, and independently from the community itself on diyAudio, just to see what happens here.
