xynomedia got their new logo design by running a design contest:
New Logo for Social Media Consulting Firm
Check out xynomedia's Logo design contest…
We are rebranding the company (new name, new logo, new website) and need a hip, modern logo that gives a nod to social media/web 2.0 but without looking canned or too 'Tech Crunch-y'. Logo must be professional as this is a B2B company. We're going to be short-listing the finalists on Jan 14 so if you're interested, please submit before Jan 14 at 6:00pm, EST.
What's your vision?
Tagline: Conversation is king. Desired Color Scheme: Open to anything just not blue and orange together - and none that are dark and depressing or too child-like and bubble-gum-y Desired Style: edgy, modern, fresh, hip, classic Accepted File Formats: Vector Formats (.eps, .pdf or .ai); Black and white AND color * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *  UPDATE: Saturday, January 12th: Many of the entries we've received are great. However, they are very literal, 1+1=2. If anyone would like to submit an entry based on this image:  please feel free, we'd love to see what you come up with. Think: 1+1=3 or about showing the result of the work we do in social media - the viral nature. A concept that shows the RESULT of our work with clients - which would be increased word of mouth, viral campaigns and expanding viral networks. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *   The Now Story: Convengine is the new company name - since we are social media strategists/consultants, the name is a combination of the words 'conversation' and 'engine' - as in "start the conversation." It's a play on the word convention - as in social media is relatively new AND as in a gathering of like-minded people. We need the following: 1) a new logo (for screen and print) and 2) stationery. The Back Story: Our existing name, xynoMedia, has served us well but needs to be retired. Our current website is here: http://www.xynoMedia.com but it does not reflect the new direction of the company or it's services. Color Scheme: Please feel free to use a different color scheme than what you see on the site, but no orange and blue together. We want to convey fresh, on-the-go yet stable and professional. Think Beyonce meets Sharon Stone. Something bright and hip and something earthy and classic. The logo needs to look good in black and white and color. Understanding Us: - Our CEO is known for her quick wit and plainspoken, cut-to-the-chase style. - We are the anti-consulting firm in just about every way. Working with us is short and sweet but thorough as hell. - We're strategists AND web developers. We don't just tell you it's great to have a blog, we build it. - We work with high-growth companies so our logo has to be visually compelling and meaningful. We're not a automotive company so graphical translations of car engines and the like are not what we're looking for. Nothing to gimmicky. The logo for Engine Yard is tasteful, but not for us. We are open to using a lowercase 'c' in the beginning of the company name, but not mixed case as we currently have in our company name. Because the new company name is a combination of words, we would like to see an umlaat or long e vowel sound sign above the 'e' in 'engine'. We thought about a semicolor or bar between the two parts of the name but that might cause domain name confusion so we'll keep the the accents above the 'e'. Brands/Logos We Love: http://www.fierceinc.com/ http://www.stoke.com/ http://www.archstoneconsulting.com/ http://www.brandspa-llc.com/ (site is a bit dark) We want a 'little graphical something' that's uniquely ours. Like Cindy Solomon's bursts with arrows. Or, Dan Sullivan's circles. Our 'something' should be part of the logo and should be able to be made larger and transparent and used as a watermark or faint background on a website, business card or letterhead.
