| General Overview Simmerberry's is a young new beverage company started by two tea-aficionados from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. While traveling, we've experienced many traditional hot drinks beyond tea, and we want to share that with the world in the form of our drinks. We really want to create a special brand which is why we came to 99designs. We want to see the perspective of a lot of designers before settling for the perfect design. After we select the design for our logo, we would like to stay in contact with the winner of this contest so that we can get additional design work done in the future depending on our needs. This is to keep the consistency in the designs and to establish a personal relationship with the designer and us. We stress that your work must be original and your own. We will do a reverse search on the logo to check for copyright infringements. Please be as creative, dedicated and passionate about this as we are. | So what do we do? We produce two types of drinks: A special mineral water for the use of hot beverages, and bottled hot drinks with flavours such as several teas, Canelazo, Zulu Beer and Glögg. | What are the values of the company? Excellent Design - Good design translates to good taste. Colourful - Colours evoke strong emotions Personal & Playful - Establish an emotional bond. Makes you want to grab our products. Consistent - One focused message. Distinctively Simmerberry's - High impact communication (visual and text). Even though we're just 2 guys, the way we do business is: → Transparent, open and honest → We live for the customer → We make premium products, but do not cater to the elite → Opening our products should feel like opening a present under the christmas tree. → We are a colourful bunch (currently of two:-) ), enjoying cultures and drinks from all over the world | Target Audience We are starting out with our mineral water, but plan to expand our product portfolio in the future. This will be distributed to specialty tea stores. With this product we are targeting a niche of tea-aficionados and people who have recently discovered luxury teas. Our customer appreciates good quality and wants to have the best tea experience, but only if that product is sold at a reasonable price. Our customer is not an elitist, but a modern, hip and well educated young professional. Our customer is between 25-40 years old, goes to specialty stores, biological grocery stores, purchases fairtrade goods, can enjoy a good pastry or a Starbucks yet overall is very health conscious maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Logo types to explore
| General guidelines Simmerberry's is the name of our company and of our mineral water brand. The logo must not be a direct reference to water. This is because we have plans to launch other beverages as well. Simmerberry's specialises in bottled, exotic hot drinks that can be heated at your convenience in your home. Everything we do is related to hot drinks. The logo should symbolise this, but it is important not to make the symbol look like a coffee or teapot (we offer more hot drinks, like Canelazo, Glögg and Zulu Beer), but something much more abstract. We're following the same naming conventions of brands such as San Pelligrino, Spa or Chaud Fontaine. These brands all have the same name for their mineral water (product) and for their company. Their secondary products have a product suffix like "Spa 'Citron'". The equivalent for our brand would be Simmerberry's Canelazo. The logo shapes our brand identity and it must look good on colourful, saturated packaging designs and minimalist, desaturated bottle labels (mineral water). It should look good in colour and in black & white (for letters or mugs). The logo will also be used on our stationary, website, merchandise such as mugs, etc. The primary use of the logo will be on the bottle labels and their six-pack shrink wraps. We may want to emboss bottles with the logo in the future, if we can get custom bottles. The logo must really stand out because the mineral water market is very competitive and saturated, and this is the first product we will be launching. | Requirements: → No direct references to water, core market is hot drinks → Clean design → Adhere to Dieter Rams' 10 principles of good design → Sans Serif → Logo must be an emblem (Starbucks, Spa Reine) or a symbol that such as Nespresso or Dualsociety → Strong, but abstract visual language → Typeface must be round, proportional and proper for print and web → Proper proportions and use of golden ratio within the symbol design → Proper use of colour balance, values, colour compatibility | Emotional appeals: → Good taste, good aesthetic → Fun → Honest → Desirable, like unboxing a present → Warm → Kind → Sympathetic
