My company creates as-builts. We go to a house or commercial property, take measurements and draw up plans of the existing structures.
I have attached a number of designs I like and will try to explain myself. I like different styles for different reasons and will try to communicate why. I am open to different ideas. Please ask me for feedback and questions at any point - I will answer every one.
I prefer black and white / or other simple combinations.
I like both simple and ornate designs. A simple logo has to be just right to be effective, a complex logo can be awesome.
I do not like:
Cartoony images, computer generated characters, etc.
I typically do not enjoy a simple logo of the stylized letters 'S','A','B'.
I am not sure about:
Mascots and other imagery. I am open to them but can give no guidance because I do not picture anything. A good picture might jump out however, because these types of things can often make for good design.
Do what makes you happy - I trust you.
I do not say this to limit you: The design will need to have some sort of 'professional' feel. Keep in mind that our clients are architects, property managers and homeowners.
A 'blueprint' feel to the logo is fine but should be subtle and is not necessary.
Some of the attached logos might be a bit a little 'busy' for a drafting company - architectural design tends to be more streamlined. However, I have been impressed with a lot of the work on this site and leave the design up to you.
Thanks everybody so much!
I am very excited. I expect to be asking for business cards, a full page 'mailer' (poster), and potentially a sort-of letterhead / bid packet from the designer after this contest completes.
Please stay in touch.
