ljm got their new logo design by running a design contest:
New Open-source Thunderbird Extension Needs a Logo!
Check out ljm's Logo design contest…
We're looking for a logo that will appeal to users of mozilla thunderbird and zimbra. The logo will support an exciting new thunderbird extension which synchronises thunderbird's address book with the contacts on a zimbra server. This free extension will be downloaded by thousands of users worldwide.
What's your vision?
Desired Color Scheme: suggestions: red, orange, blue and grey but other thoughts welcome Accepted File Formats: high-res vector format: psd or eps The logo should convey a sense of trust and confidence in this new open-source software, which delivers behind-the-scenes usefulness. The logo needs to be generic enough to be able to apply to other related products and services. It also needs to be versatile, as it will be seen: - on a website (of course) - in a screenshot showing the extension in action at the mozilla download page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/browse/type:1/cat:23 - favicon.ico - in the extension itself (png of similar size to favicon.ico) - in print (ie. logo must work in both black and white and colour) Logos you might want to look at include: - http://www.mozilla.org (firefox and thunderbird) - http://www.zimbra.com - http://www.opendns.org (simple, bold, and versatile) - http://www.plaxo.com - http://www.linkedin.com
