Gourmia is a new brand of kitchen products that was designed and engineered from the "ground up" to become the "go to" brand for gourmets and budding gourmets from all walks of life. Our product portfolio will include mainstream “day to day” items like food processors, slicers & dicers, “stand & hand” mixers, blenders, toaster ovens, etc as well as cool and esoteric items like “water cookers”, bread bakers, slow juicers & extractors, dehydrators, immersion blenders, pasta makers, multi-cookers, grills, presses & smokers and more. Aside from our plans to dominate kitchen counters, we also plan to dominate kitchen drawers as well—which is why we’ll also be launching a thoroughly curated selection of kitchen gadgets designed to meet a need—not just a price point. If the size and scope of the preceding sound impressive(not to mention obsessive) we couldn’t agree more. Fact is, Gourmia wasn’t founded by marketing types, it was founded “by foodies for foodies”—the people behind our products love creating great food as much as they love enjoying it. Does that mean you have to know your escarole from your escargot to appreciate Gourmia? NOT AT ALL! The way we see it is that when it comes to food, everyone has a favorite something, and it’s our mission to make prepping, cooking, baking and creating that “something” as easy, enjoyable and 'cool' as possible. Our target? You name it. We’ll have products for the new bride who wants to show her husband (and mother in law) that she can make more than reservations for dinner, as well as items that will make culinary connoisseurs “yelp” with glee. In short, we plan on being a full line “go to” brand. Best of all, we plan on being awesome and affordably accessible as well. Please note, that doesn’t mean cheap but it DOES mean great value. That’s because our buyers and engineers have spent the better part of half a decade scouring the planet in search of production facilities capable of executing our vision. The result? While “culinarily conscious” consumers will be impressed by the engineering specs & features of Gourmia products, what will really impress them is their price (as well as the logo we’re counting on you to create!)
Logo types to explore
As you can hopefully tell, we’re seriously passionate about our brand. The look of our logo has to convey that passion without “turning off” newbies or more “casual” consumers by making them think we’re too complicated or “pro” to meet their needs. We believe cooking like any hobby or interest can and should be fun—our products will make that happen and your logo will make that real. Also keep in mind it has to be ultra-legible across multiple products, packages and platforms—so it has to work on a webpage being viewed on a smartphone as well as store display, business card, bill board, hang tag and of course, the product itself where depending on the design, it may be printed, silkscreened or even embossed. At this point we’re tempted to tell you that given the wide range of products & materials that will be featuring our logo, we’ve found bold, sans-serif fonts work best, but instead we’ll tell you to use your judgment, talent & expertise. We need the look and tone to be universal as we’re about global appeal. Speaking of look & tone, we’re still “back & forth” on Gourmia vs. Gourmia! –some of us like the emphatic stopping power of ending the name with a !, others feel it’s unnecessary as our name will have lots of stopping power on it’s own. So in terms of “to ! or not to !” that is the question we’ll leave to your design thinking to answer.
