jesse xp got their new logo design by running a design contest:
revolutionary food brand that partners with farmers to bring consumers the best heritage foods!

Food & Drink
emmer&Co will become the consumer brand that people can trust when it comes to selecting the best, most nutritious heritage foods. And by providing capital to the farmers we partner with, we believe this provides a compelling model for expanding the supply of these products and rebuilding infrastructure while connecting to consumers through innovative marketing. We're now speaking to farmers who raise poultry - we think chickens will be a great first product to come to the market with because it can reach the most amount of consumers. About emmer&Co: emmer is one of the original foods that humans ate and cultivated on this planet. From this one healthy and nutritious type of wheat, industrialized agriculture genetically modified and hybridized strains to optimize for yield and robustness under the milling process. Now gluten allergies and disease are four times more common than 60 years ago and the genetic diversity of wheat is nearly gone. Emmer reminds us that by going back to heritage sources, we can expand genetic biodiversity and eat healthy again. &Co doesn’t stand for Company. It stands for Community. In every decision we make, we think about how it affects our community of farmers, employees, consumers, and everyone else. The food system is interconnected across countries and continents and the decisions we make as a company can impact someone on the other side of the world. Each one of our products is co-branded with the farmer who produces it so that we can tell their story. Because their story is our story. By knowing where our food comes from, we can ensure that we’re always eating the best.
Logo types to explore
Each one of our products is going to be co-branded with the farmer who produces it. So for example, if we're selling chickens raised by a farmer named James, the packaging of those chickens would say emmer&James. And if we had a bread product that came from a wheat farmer named Amy, similarly it would be branded as emmer&Amy. So we thought that the emmer& part of the logo could be differentiated to allow for that sub-branding to be effective. Also we're interested to see variations of the ampersand. We like the idea of using a different kind of symbol in place of the ampersand - a symbol that is easier to draw than an ampersand but still kind of looks like an "and". That symbol on its own can then be used to brand the company in different ways. Two examples of companies that have used a symbol to represent them in different branding opportuniteis are Apple and Airbnb. Airbnb is probably the better example since they recently rebranded and created their upside down heart/"A" symbol. https://create.airbnb.com/en/home Brands we like for inspiration: Warby Parker https://www.warbyparker.com Shinola http://www.shinola.com/ Harry's https://www.harrys.com/ J.
