Food & Drink
SugarFreeMixology (www.sugarfreemixology.com) is a personal blog & Instagram account focused on providing recipes, tips, ideas, and commentary around sugar free drink recipes (alcohol & coffee, largely). The tagline is "because nothing should stop you from having your joy and drinking it, too." Its high level purpose is to empower people to go after what they want. The philosophy behind this is that people can live their best lives (however that looks for them) even with limitations like being a diabetic (sensitivity to sugar/carbs) or another chronic food-related disease, or even just wanting to be healthy. The tone is (1) humorous - not taking life too seriously, (2) a little snarky, and (3) about empowerment. This mix would be welcomed in a design. The content is developed and written by a Type 1 Diabetic. The audience is broad, but could be broken down in the following ways: 1. Other diabetics whose lives are also affected by dietary choices; however, this content is useful for anyone looking to drop the amount of sugar or carbs they consume (over 21 for the alcohol side). 2. Adults with a sense of humor 3. People interested in mixology, making mixed drinks or flavored coffee beverages.
My web site (sugarfreemixology.com) might is currently under development, so I'm open to the right logo driving the overall color palette and look & feel (I'm in communication but suck at creative design). Right now I'm using a photograph of a mule mug with an insulin pen sticking out of it. I'm not married to this concept but I'd love a visual that can somehow integrate diabetic struggles with a classic mixology visual. I like clean design and minimal use of bright colors (more into black, grey, neutral) that utilizes white space well. An example of design in play on the diabetic side can be seen in the logo & design for partylikeadiabetic.co. I really like how the logo integrates a diabetes visual with a playful visual. Another example of a design in a similar arena that I like is the "BK Cocktails" on https://boozyketones.com/.
