Food & Drink
Our business is called Equal Parts Cocktail Company and we serve world class cocktails and provide an elevated beverage experience for weddings, private parties and special events. Our target audience will be clients who want the same level of expertise/attention to detail coming from their beverage offerings as are coming from their caterers and event coordinators. People who want much more than just “jack and coke” offered from their bartenders.
Hi there! I’m SUPER excited to lay down my ideas and begin to see what all of you incredible designers can imagine that is above and beyond my personal creativity. The logo needs to have the words, “Equal Parts Cocktail Company” in it. I’d love to see some iterations with Company abbreviated as Co. Not a huge fan of initials for the company name, so please don’t add “EP” or “EPCC” to the logo. I’ve been told the more content the better for these design contests, so bear with me…I’m going to jot down everything I can think of:) I love clean, eye catching logos that aren't overly cluttered. Logos that are as simple as just the four words are certainly not enough, however. I lean towards logos with a more sophisticated look. Nothing cartoony. A bit of a “prohibition” or “speakeasy” feeling to the logo could be great. I like the combination of bold type face with some more ornate words/aspects to the design as well. The bold letters having somewhat of an outline, or hollow center (sorry, I don’t know the lingo) would be great. I’m very into chemistry and science in general and would LOVE to see this theme played out in the logo. There is lots of chemistry involved with cocktail making. I’ll attach several ideas of logos that have caught my eye in the past or shapes, objects that I like. I like symmetry. Round logos, or logos with an overall round shape tend to catch my eye, but this isn't a deal breaker. You’ll notice many of my liked logos aren’t actually round. Hexagonal shapes could go along with the chemistry aspect, but I’m worried it may take over the theme too much, so please use a lot of discretion here, maybe a slight accent at most. I’ve often liked ribbon-like banners that span a logo side to side. But this isn’t a must have. I'm ok with some use of cocktail tools in the logo the way hops, for example, are used in many brewery logos (i.e., jiggers, bar spoons, shakers, mixing glasses etc. Also, a crossover of chemistry lab tools can work with the cocktail theme, i.e. beakers, erlenmeyer flasks)...however, this should not overwhelm the overall design. A winning logo might have none added…just thought I’d mention it incase you think it’s a nice touch to your design. For colors, I lean towards black or very dark backgrounds with gold, white, silvers, grays being my preferred palette. It is also important, however, that the logo is easily used for website, social media, business cards, shirts etc. Not sure if I want this or not yet, but I’m open to seeing “Est. 2018”, and one of the following “Minneapolis, MN”, “Mpls, MN”, “MPLS, MINN”, or just “Minnesota” in the logo. Thanks so much for helping me take the first few steps in my entrepreneurial journey!!
