We are rebranding our business-to-business magazine, and we need a cover design for the inaugural issue. Our audience are the retail IT technology solutions spending decision makers.
What's your vision?
The title of the rebranded magazine is Innovative Retail Technologies. This cover is the cover of the inaugural issue. It needs to have an extremely innovative look and feel while still being professional. I will provide the IRT logo, which needs to be prominently displayed at the top of the page. I will also provide the logo and storefront images of the main feature story, which will be the center of attention for the cover. I'll provide a headline and subhead. ALL TEXT must be able to be manipulated/changed by me once I have the final file. I will need a small callout box that states "Formerly Integrated Solutions For Retailers" and include a small version of that logo, which I will provide. MAIN HEADLINE (large, sleek font): Anything But Off The Shelf MAIN SUBHEAD: To develop a multidisciplinary IP surveillance infrastructure that would serve LP and operations, Kroger took innovation into its own hands. BLURBS: * The Hard Road To Innovation * Suit Up: Alton Lane's Path To Omni-Channel Innovation * STORY's Customer Experience Success Call outs: * Formerly Integrated Solutions For Retailers (small, not overpowering) * Inside: The Annual Mobility Research Supplement FOR MAIN COVER IMAGES (Kroger storefront and logo): Feel free to use both the logo and the storefront, just the logo, or just the storefront. The images cannot run more than 150% of size. Fonts for main headline and subhead: Myriad Pro, Bold Condensed. If you use other fonts throughout the cover, please make sure they are complimentary to Myriad Pro, and you will need to provide all fonts used in the design. Please be as innovative as possible in your interpretation of this cover. It should be sleek, innovative-looking, and professional.
Colors used throughout the cover should be complimentary to the color values in the Innovative Retail Technologies logo. Regarding images, no image can be run larger than 150% of size. The following Specs MUST BE ADHERED TO: Full page (trim) 8.25” 10.875” Full page (bleed) 8.50” 11.125” • Bleed must extend .125” beyond the trim for each edge that bleeds. • Live materials must be at least .5” from trim, or .625” from bleed edge. • Do not include a slug • All images should be 300 dpi or vector • Fonts must be PC-based on not CS6 type-kit fonts • Submit materials in a press-ready Adobe Acrobat PDF [Version 5.0 (1.4) or later] in CMYK color mode and provide packaged source files as Adobe InDesign CS5, version 7.0. Include all fonts and artwork. All colors used must be included in the color swatches in the InDesign program. • RGB, spot, Lab, and ICC-based colors are not accepted and must be converted to process CMYK in the original document before processing for ad file output. • Link all images. • Image resolution must be at least 300 dpi; line art should be at least 800-1200 dpi. • Do not save images with screen angles or transfer functions. • Do all resizing, rotating, or skewing to graphics within the graphic program, not the page layout program. • All fonts must be embedded or converted to outlines and paths. • Do not set up smart text reflow on text boxes • Substituted fonts are not permitted • Ruler unites should be in inches, text size and stroke units in point
