Games & Recreational
Conquest! is a multiplayer strategy/RPG game of medieval war. It was originally text based and run on Internet Relay Chat (IRC) in the 90s. The app will allow users to connect to the game server to play anywhere.
This is a fantasy game of war with a medieval theme. All the traditional medieval fare is here: jousting, quests, knights. There are also RPG elements such as magical spells and items, artifacts, vampires.
I would recommend downloading the existing Windows client to get a feel for the game. The two screens I'm requesting are Kingdom and Travel. I have included these two as screenshots if you can't run a PC application. The Kingdom tab is an overview of your empire. This will be the landing spot for the app once they log in. The sidebar on the right contains vital information about your empire: movement points, castles, land, etc. The main part allows players to adjust tax rates, buy/selling Castles, etc. The lower part houses the vault, which is where magical items are stored. The Travel tab is where players move around the world. Instead of a drop-down list of destinations, users should click (or tap) the cities displayed on a medieval style map (possible weathered, Compass Rose, etc.). Travel to other continents (there are 3) should work in a similar fashion. Each city contains a different market place and a way to view this should be included. Not all information may fit on a mobile device, so linking in an intuitive way will be important. Additional screens may be requested after this contest ends; I would like a total of 3-5.
What to avoid
Complexity. The game is complex and has a learning curve. Whatever can be done to invite players to explore more should be utilized. Replicating the existing client should be completely avoided.
