Somewhere either before or after these steps there should be on boarding screen instruction screens, with graphics or illustrations clearly showing how the process works. Probably easy to make it four steps below:
1. HappyGo - The on the day dating app that pairs you based on mutual friends.
2. Search for a date by 1PM to receive a daily profile for a date this evening.
3. At 1pm, make a decision on your profiles by 2PM. You will get 1 to 3 different profiles.
4. At 2pM you will find out if there is a match or not. If there is, you will move to chat to find a time and place.
At the moment, the search tool is a button on in the centre of the page. If you swipe left you get your profile/settings where you can edit info, pictures, date preferences and date settings (see app on the app store for an idea of how we do it now. We were taking inspiration from Shazam for the home screen layout. It is important that it is very clear on what to do next so that the user journey guides them into what to do next.
There currently isn’t a place to look at previous matches and the chats with them, but we want there to be, this could be on the right side of the home screen (when you swipe right).
Once the user clicks search, they should then get a confirmation screen of their date preferences. Once they confirm they then move to a screen where it shows them that they have until 1PM until they get their daily profiles. This screen is currently very bare and could do with things being added (up for interpretation).
They get either 1,2 or 3 profiles. This screen should ideally have a countdown or something to let them know that the dates expire at 2PM. It currently looks like the below image. The wording should be changed to “Mutual Friends on HappyGo” as it does take into account all the friends on facebook you have in common. We like this at the moment but if you feel there is a better way to show the daily profiles we are very keen to see some different interpretations.
To make a decision on the profile you click on to it, read through, look at pics and at the bottom there is a like/dislike button. Once you have made a decision on all profiles you go to a screen where it is a countdown until 2pm (when you find out you have a match). On this countdown screen you should be able to change your mind on the decision you have made to each profile. Rarely some people won’t get a daily profile as its always hard to give someone to everyone. Ideally needs to be a screen that explains this, and gives them options to return to home, or search again for tomorrow.
If you don’t get a match you will get a screen that explains this in a very kind way/maybe even jokey.
If you do get a match you should get a screen that says congratulatipons, and then a button to move on to the chat where you will choose a time and place to meet that evening. They will not be able to leave this screen, or cancel the date. (The date expires at midnight). They get a message from HappyGo saying:
"HappyGo here! Congratulations on finding a match. Please chat to each other to find a time and place you both want to meet this evening. You both selected X, Y, Z, A, and B.
Why not try out the pub(s) below?
The Churchill Arms
The Hollywood Arms
The Duke on the Green
Enjoy your date!"
This is the app very simply. Please do look at how it is currently laid out on the app store.
******For the purpose of the contest please can you design these three screens******
1. Home Page
2. Your daily profiles (please do this with three profiles not 1)
3. One Example of the on-boarding instruction screens (At 1pm, make a decision on your profiles by 2PM. You will get 1 to 3 different profiles.)
Please let me know if there are any questions.
