Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are currently building software for companies to maintain their employee training/testing Human Resources data.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We need some buttons that will work with a generic website layout that is designed to be white-labeled. The buttons will be used to indicate that the user will be inserting a new record. The site is built such that the color scheme for the main is fairly neutral (mostly greys and whites) because the background header color, text color for company name and company buttons on the top can be changed (see the images provided). This means the buttons will need to be able to work with any potential colors that may be in the header/icon. The background color of the area these buttons will be in will remain consistent.
The buttons will give us a chance to bring a little more excitement to the pages which are otherwise mostly text, form fields and tables. We need modern looking buttons for the following actions:
New Job Type
New Group (Clarification: Miscellaneous grouping of people/employees)
New File (Clarification: Think of this as a file folder in a filing cabinet)
New Form (Clarification: The forms that would be in the file folder)
New Handbook (Clarification: The company handbook/rules)
We envision the buttons all bringing a consistent look except the text and icon
used. You can use the opportunity to show off your skills
and use icons you think will look better or use the icons provided (we will need
the original layered save file to be able to change them in the future
if we desire). Examples will be provided but they are very rough. The example images are 48px high, which seems to work well but there is some wiggle room there.
In the examples we have gone with green around the text to indicate 'Create/Insert', while this is not required we do think it would look best if all of the buttons had a consistent dominant color (other than the icons) and a button 'look' (maybe with some glass effect?). We are not graphic designers so if you think something would look better then please feel free to experiment. The icons/colors/location/layout may be changed but the text/wording should remain as provided above, ignoring clarifications.
We will need the final images submitted in a layered design, that could be opened in Photoshop, GIMP or Paint.Net, such that the icons/text could be changed in the future if needed. The buttons should have a transparent background but you may wish to show the entries on a grey background similar to the ones used in the screenshot (#DADAD8).
Please do not be shy, we will gladly answer any relevant questions.
There is also potential for more design work when we find a designer that we work well with.
