I made a short film last year and I'm going to launch it online soon. I would very much love a poster for it.
It obviously has a very high-concept premise, but the film was made to be grounded, emotional, sweet, and romantic in tone. I really do hope it feels kind of like if Nora Ephron wrote/directed an episode of The Twilight Zone.
The idea I have for the poster is simple, I think.
There are eight characters in the room: Rob, his girlfriend Nina, his parents, the doctor who delivered him when he was born, the nurses who assisted the doctor during the birth, and a Russian camgirl.
The last scene of the short takes place at a beautiful park in Torrance, CA called Rocketship Park. It's known for it's huge rocketship statue, but it's also known for it's breathtaking view. It's basically on top of a hill.
The poster: the eight characters standing on the hill, looking out at the view, their backs facing us. Maybe 75-80% of the poster is a big, beautiful, grand, sweeping, vaguely romantic blue sky. The characters are at the bottom of the poster, looking out. They should be kind of small on the poster, but not microscopic. Rob should be in the center and Nina should be close to him. His parents should be paired together too. The title should be in the center of the sky. The title shouldn't be huge and I sort of imagine it being in three rows of three words each, rather than just one long row of all the words. The font we used for the credits in the film is called Brandon Text Medium, but feel free to use something else.
The style I'd like it to be in is a sort of impressionistic painting in pastel colors. I will attach several reference images that will do a waaay better job of describing what I'm imagining. I will also attach a link to the film, obviously, so you know what the characters look like. The last scene especially should be able to help you out.
