Ideally I would like to add a very unique, clean/sleek, and creative flair to my Curriculum Vitae/Resume while maintaining a minimalist and highly professional look/impacted expected of an application for a job as a doctor at a large academic medical center. Reviewers will read hundreds of these rather lengthy documents, therefore, one of the major challenges of this project will be to create a design that allows extremely easy readability and quick access to important information without having to focus too hard reading blocks of text. The challenge is that the document contains a lot of text, much of which cannot be significantly altered. Ideally this will help the curriculum vitae, and by extension me, stand-out during the extremely competitive medical residency application process and make the best possible impact on selection committees. I would like some tasteful use of color that is not overdone or distracting from the content. The key features I am looking for in the design are professional, clear/easy legibility, clean with good consistent spacing, good use of blank/white space, and a subtly unique/creative/interesting flair. Sizing/proportions must remain suitable on standard 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Text must remain relatively unchanged, however, some use of abbreviations is fine. There is no need to add a place for a picture, as that is found elsewhere in the application. Small illustration icons beside headings/contact information, as I've seen with some contest submission to date are unlikely to be consistent with my desired direction, however, I am always open to such details if they really add a lot to the style; otherwise, 'less is more' is the name of the game here. Page length, font, spacing, layout, color, additional lines/spacing/etc. are flexible to create the desired effect. I've found I'm partial to strong contrasting matte modern color palettes used with subtle taste/elegance.
