jkaplan215 got their new product label by running a design contest:
Need an awesome label design for Salt of the Earth Co. - Gourmet Peruvian Salt
Check out jkaplan215's Product label contest…
Food & Drink
Salt of the Earth Co. imports gourmet Peruvian salt and sells to specialty food shops, cafes, restaurants, and retail customers. The salt is hand harvested in the Sacred Valley in Peru by local residents. The company is also a social entrepreneurial venture where part of the proceeds go to support these Peruvian communities as well as support food banks in the US. The target audience are those who love to cook and foodies. But really includes anyone who buys sustainable and natural products. The salt is raw and hand-harvested. There are no additives and the pink color comes from the inclusion of trace elements in the salt. The salt can be used as freely as table salt, but specifically should be added on desserts like brownies and cupcakes, but also to savory dishes like pastas, steaks/chicken, and salads.
What's your vision?
The design I am looking for is simple, bold, and modern. The label itself should be clean and eye catching. Ideally, customers will leave this jar of salt on their counter tops and use whenever they need. I would like the design to embrace the geometric structure of the salt pans from where the salt is harvested in Peru. (Please see the attached photos to see this location.) It is such a beautiful and unique geographic location and would love to incorporate the geometric element in an abstract way to the design. I like the idea of having this pattern as a background/wallpaper on the label. (See the wedding invitation design/Mast Brother label). Then there being a square/rectangle/oval with the name of the company and some other content, such as bottle size - 6 oz, and location Maras, Peru and Brooklyn, NY. I would also like there to be safety seal sticker that would go over the top of the bottle on the cap saying "Season with a Purpose" with design elements on the edges of the sticker. I'd like the colors to be natural and bold like the green blue colors seen in the attached triangular abstract design. But I am open to other color schemes. The pallet of colors should be limited in order to make the labels cost effective. The label size should be max 2" x 2.5" for the 6 oz glass jar. The label design should be able to be reduced or enlarged depending if smaller or larger jar sizes are added to the product line. Please be creative! Also feel free to ask questions.
