jcroc23 got their new product label by running a design contest:
Built Bear Gummies, seeking product label design
Check out jcroc23's Product label contest…
Food & Drink
Description of the product
Low calorie, grass-fed gelatin fruit flavored protein gummy bears. Naturally & artificially flavored. The bears are shaped very similarly to regular gummy bears.
Description of the product target audience
Health and fitness enthusiasts.
The label will be needed for front and back for a stand-up barrier pouch. Update: The pouch color will be black. The label will need to be transparent/able to be added to the barrier pouch via a sticker. Front: logo, product & brand name. Product name "built bears" & statement of identity "grass-fed gelatin gummy bears" should be prominent while the logo & brand name "muscle minded" should be more discreet/subtle. Colorful flavor profile (4 flavors - orange, strawberry, green apple, grape), calorie total highlight (105) & macronutrient total highlight (22g protein, 0g fats, 5g carbs per pack). Declaration of quantity – 3 oz (83g). Images of actual gummy bears would be nice as well, as it'll show what the product is rather than the consumer needing to just read the label. I was thinking perhaps an image of a gummy bear on both sides of the "built bear" text (realistic/actual gummy bear, not a cartoon!). I’m open to other ideas that designers/creators feel may be better though. Back: - section for information on product (Why Grass-Fed Beef Gelatin? Gelatin has potent gut health benefits, no downsides, and an extremely high satiety index. It’s also low calorie and is made up of only high-quality protein. These elements make Gelatin a perfect food for any diet, especially for fat loss!) - production code, ingredients statement, declaration of responsibility, handling statement (Keep Refrigerated), allergen information, logo & brand name with slogan ("nutrition made with muscle in mind"), and nutrition facts. Aside from the production code, slogan & handling statement, the other items mentioned here will be revised/added later on. A blank section for these would be fine for now. *Updated 6/28 at 2:45pm EST US
What to avoid
We are trying to avoid a design that is too busy/wordy.
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their product label.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
jcroc23 collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
