Carpenter & MacNeille
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are a full service, residential, architecture and construction firm in New England starting up a new line of custom woodworking products (cabinetry, furniture, architectural details, etc.). These products will be hand-crafted in our own shop and sold to our architectural clients, as well as to other trade professionals looking for high-quality, custom cabinetry.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We are calling the wood shop "C&M Woodworking" and already have an established parent logo and font for Carpenter & MacNeille. I would like a "stamp" for C&M woodworking that we can use in a variety of formats - engraved into the wood, printed on apparel, added to vehicle signage, etc. One versatile file that can be used in a variety of print and web-based applications, color and b&w, would be very helpful. I like the idea of using the combined "C&M" from our parent logo, and surrounding the letters with the longer name and woodworking letters.
I love the way the paint company Farrow & Ball uses their round logos - something like that would be great. See examples below.
Also - we sometimes use the tagline, "Made in New England". This doesn't have to be included in this lock-up there, but it can be...
The font we use for our standard logo lettering is Adobe Garamond Pro.
