Benguela Cove / Benguela Collection
Description of the product
Key message: The key for us is the clarity of the brand name so that it is easily recognizable and distinguishable across our total portfolio. More sophisticated designs therefore the imagery then needs to be more classic and not picturesque. As Benguela Cove is placed in a beautiful setting you can play with that surrounds plus the story of what you are doing there and the history of the place, coupled with cool climate and the family ownership. Thank you for your participation. Please note the brief and make sure the designs have bold symbols same as the examples I have attached to the brief.
Description of the product target audience
Design & Graphic Style: This wine will be served to diners in high-end restaurants. It needs to be minimalist, uncluttered but sophisticated. Design can use a rich textile, embossed or have a tactile feel. We do not want to illustrate pictures as such on the label, but need to produce a product that will look classical and timeless.
To design a minimalistic, sophisticated and timeless wine label. A label for white wine (white capsule) and a label for Red wine (Gray capsule)
What to avoid
Important points: Avoid whites on label if possible. Wine destined for the on-consumption restaurant market. The majority of their restaurants are London based, white tablecloths – high end, sophisticated guests. Some similarities between Benguela Cove estate label and 2nd label. They should relate or look like they’re from the same stable/brand. (please other Benguela Cove labels attached) It needs to be minimalist, uncluttered but sophisticated. Google search ‘Benguela Cove + Manor’ to get an idea of the Manor, the surroundings and lifestyle. The design should be resonate with this opulence and beauty of the natural surroundings. We do not want to illustrate pictures as such on the label, but need to produce a product that will look classical and timeless. Clarity of the brand name is key so that it is easily recognisable across across the portfolio. If wanting to use the house in the design, it must be subtle, maybe just like a silhouette of the Manor in silver & blue lines. See http://www.almenkerk.co.za/wines.aspx design as n guideline. The estate name Benguela Cove must feature prominently on the bottle Walker Bay - our wine region must also feature prominently. We need the name: ie Sauvignon Blanc and Classic Red Add the following strap line: Cool Climate Please do not use any logo’s containing ‘BC’. We’re more looking towards a ‘image type’ logo. Maybe something nautical like a anchor, sailers knot, compass, lighthouse or boat steering wheel See https://twitter.com/logosporn?lang=en for ideas. The wines are bottled already, so please stick to using these bottle shapes and screw cap colour/designs in the mock ups White wine in Burgundy shape bottle. Brown glass with white cap (Please see image attached) Red wine in Claret shape bottle. Green glass with gun metal/grey cap. (Please see image attached) Also see photo’s attached showing cap designs and logo’s on top of the caps. Look at having have a neck labels going over the cap to cover the old logo’s.
