Other color requirements
Color scheme should look sophisticated, premium, but at the same time should convey that we are an eco-friendly brand.
Description of the product
BIOFUNCTIONALS is an organic rice product with botanicals. It is a combination of black, red, and brown rice topped off with various botanicals. We have 3 SKUs in our product line: ENERGY, IMMUNE, and SOOTHING. Each SKU has a different combination of botanicals with the aforementioned properties. BIOFUNCTIONALS sources its rice and botanicals from Green Net - a Thai social enterprise, and its organic networks. Over 24 years, Green Net has been providing fair-trade market access for small-scale farming families in Thailand and South East Asia, with a wide range of products including rice, coconuts, herbal teas, vegetables, and eco-textiles. 100% of the sale profits go to support the development and empowerment of 1000's of Thai and South East Asian small-scale farming families within Green Net's organic and fair trade networks.
Description of the product target audience
The core of our customers are US (60% women, 40% men) aged 40+, most of whom are into healthy living or trying to eat better (real food with functional nutrients). Educated, higher income.
There are 3 different SKUs (Organic Sprouted Rice with 6 Botanicals - ENERGY, IMMUNE, and SOOTHING). Each SKU has a different combination of botanicals with aforementioned properties. We would like to distinguish them with different color schemes, but all 3 SKU designs must have a coherent theme. The box will be made of 400g artcard instead of the rigid cardboard box due to their production limitations. Now for a 400g artcard, this means the top has to fold down over the existing piece. ie the top is slightly larger. We need to make sure opening/cut-out window is not within 2 cms of the edges. It can be open up to 50% of the area of the front of the box but we prefer to keep it at 25% - 30%. Multiple smaller holes might be better than one big one. Example of how the lid will close over the box: https://ibb.co/dZhn6m We want the packaging to be informative and give off an organic, high-end feel. On the front, we’d like to see images of the botanicals, and we’d like this clearly stated on the top “100% PROFITS -> SUSTAINABLE ORGANICS”. Icons to include on front are: USDA Organic, NON GMO, Free Trade, Gluten Free, and Prebiotics On the back, we want to include the following text along with the drawing of “The Power of Germination” which is shown on the original design attached. 100 PERCENT of Biofunctional’s profits go to GREENNET, which has helped 1000’s of SE Asian small-scale families convert to certified organic agriculture. And for over 20 years, GREENNET has been providing fair-trade marketing outlets for their products, including rice, coconuts, herbal teas, soybeans, and eco-textiles. www.greennet.or.th (Please get the rest of the text from the original designs.) On one side, include the Nutrition facts, ingredients, barcode and address. On the other side, include cooking instructions and social media handles. Please use our previous design (attached) as a starting point, not as a model. We’re not looking for a polished rendition of our own mock up, but still want to retain the same words and approximate proportionality. I.e., sprouted rice and 6 botanicals – important; Biofunctionals brand – less important. The sleeve (top lid) must be at least 2 – 3.5 inches. It does not have to be straight. The cutout should take up about 25-30 percent of the front of the package but not too close to the side edges. (In each box, we’ll have 3 stacks of vacuum packed rice, so we must work out a way to show all layers of botanicals in each pack of rice. TOP: - Biofunctionals logo + "REAL FOOD + FUNCTIONAL NUTRIENTS" FRONT: - "SOOTHING", "IMMUNE", or "ENERGY" must be prominent on the design as well as the different color schemes to differentiate the 3 SKUs. - 7 botanicals should be about the same size but put emphasis/importance on sprouted rice BACK: 100 PERCENT of Biofunctional’s profits go to GREENNET, which has helped 1000’s of SE Asian small-scale farming families convert to certified organic agriculture. And for over 20 years, GREENNET has been providing fair-trade marketing outlets for their products, including rice, coconuts, herbal teas, soybeans, and eco-textiles. www.greennet.or.th FEED YOUR GUT ANTIOXIDANTS + PREBIOTICS We begin with an organic, aromatic blend of brown jasmine (Hom Mali), red jasmine (Mali Daeng), and black (Hom Nin). The rice is soaked for two days until sprouted. Compared to ordinary brown rice, sprouting increases bioavailable NUTRIENTS - especially the vital neurotransmitter GABA (Gamma Amino Butyric Acid), immune-boosting ANTIOXIDANTS, and PREBIOTICS - fibers which nourish the good bacterias in your colon. Added to the germinated rice, we have selected a combination of 7 BOTANICALS, valued in traditional Asian medicine for their nutritional properties, and thought to have a SOOTHING, CALMING EFFECT: Lotus seeds, Hummingbird tree flower, Black sesame, Butterfly pea flower, Holy basil, Pandan, Jujube. SIDE 1: - Nutrition facts - Ingredients: Rice, Nelumbo nucifera, Sesbania grandiflora, Seasmum indicum, Clitoria pea flower, Ocimum tenuiflorum, Pandanus amaryllifolius, Ziziphus jujuba - Distributed by: Biofunctionals Address City Barcode SIDE 2: - Cooking Instructions - 1 BAG + 1.5 CUPS OF WATER = 2-3 SERVINGS - Bring to boil, cover and simmer at low heat for about 30 minutes until water is absorbed and rice is soft. Keep covered for 5 minutes before serving. For softer rice, add a bit more water and for crunchier rice, a little less water. Flavor tips: Saute rice gently for 5 minutes in very small amount olive oil before adding water For maximum freshness, refrigerate after opening. - (website globe icon) biofunctionals.com - (facebook icon) /Biofunctionals - (instagram icon) @biofunctionals The lid should have the "100% Profits go to sustainable organics" message.
