This is for a signed special edition of the German translation of The Magician by Christopher Zeischegg.

The client didn't specify much what they want so I decided to research the book.

After watching the author's short film associated with the book, I decided to capture the obsession with art where gore and eroticism overlap the film has showcased.

That's why I combined multiple famous paintings with magic scribbles and blood to convey the art the character/author was seeing.

I also found the English title text way too iconic to re-do since it was used in the film, the first cover and even the most recent English re-release, so I decided to keep it in as it is.
