Amy Silverman got their new t-shirt by running a design contest:
Edgar Allan Poe Elementary needs a summer reading t-shirt!
Check out Amy Silverman's T-shirt contest…
This shirt will be a prize given to top summer readers at our elementary school, and will only be available to 6 children. Students wear red, white, navy blue, goldenrod yellow or hunter green uniform shirts every day. I was hoping for a tshirt that will stand out, as only six kids will earn the shirts and I want them to feel special :) I want these shirts to become coveted items and encourage future summer reading endeavors. As for style, I would love for it to look like an illustration from a children's book. Perhaps a white shirt with an illustration that looks like it was done in watercolor like some of the inspiration images below.
The name of our school (Poe Elementary) and our mascot (Edgar Allan Poe's raven) should be featured on the shirt but I am open to ideas on the rest - I love the idea of "Reading is my Super Power" but feel free to run with it. It is important that the raven look friendly and wise and not too scary or sporty. Books/reading should be focused upon, if not the main part of the logo. I would like a cohesive logo instead of separate images and text.
What to avoid
No neon shirts or Comic Sans please! The shirt will be for children but I would still like it to look stylish and not too babyish. My principal has asked that we "keep it classy."
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. T-shirt starts at €179.
Full copyright with production-ready files for digital and/or print.
