Excellent job! Very prompt and developed a unique design.
How Erick912 started their web page design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We manufacture and resell indoor gardening equipment, grow boxes,
hydroponic supplies, grow lights, etc. You can probably come up with
who our target audience is, they're young, hippie(ish), and into
herbs. Our current design does well to cater to hobby growers but we
want a more professional design that would cater to the more
commercial growers; aka we need to look more trustworthy.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the web page?
We want a clean, bright website that conveys trust and professionalism with a twist of fun. You'll notice our current design uses lots of earth tones and has a character "bob" that looks like a hippy guy. We like bob and we like the kind of trippy designs behind our logo but incorporating that into a clean site is kind of hard, so I'm not tied to bob.
We no longer want earth tones and browns. I would prefer shades of white, green, highlights of black or orange are possible.
The website we will build is responsive so the design should keep that in mind. We want big full page banners on home page, big product page layout, etc.
You can see our attempt at redesigning here; http://www.fullbloom.mybigcommerce.com/ (There is not much I like to this design so please don't use it but you get the general sense of our plan for a larger layout).
On every page the goal is to get our existing content above the fold
while balancing design and aesthetics. Check out our current website
to see how much content we have on home page, product pages.
- Home page
Navigation should be at the very top. A big slider/banner would be
nice. We want to call attention to 5 major product groupings in 5
blocks much like http://growershouse.com/ does at the bottom (they
show 4). We would be showcasing similar products but we need one extra
block show casing our grow kits.
no browns or dark colors like you see on our current website. We want to lighten the site up while still retaining some bright garden colors; greens or oranges/yellows, etc. It should predominately light/white or use off whites, etc.
That first jpg below was my attempt to show the home page but we want 5 across not 4.
