martinkickpages got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Clean, slick conversion focused website for drag and drop page building app
Check out martinkickpages's Web page design contest…
We sell a drag-and-drop pagebuilder platform that also includes a full websiote builder, membership app and sales funnel builder. Our target audience is online marketers, entrepreneurs creating their own marketing pages and agencies
We need a new website that we can use as a "home" for our app, to inform and educate people about what it does and to provide resources, case studies and other content that wil help attract new users. We currently have a very basic placeholder site, but we do have our final logo and will use that in the new site. In terms of design, we are open to ideas but as a relatively new platform, we want something fresh that will draw visitors in and make them explore our platform, with the ultimate goal being conversions - having visitors sign up to either a trial, or a paid plan.
Homepage: intro to our app with strong above the fold content including our sales video and call to action. As the page goes down, visitors see customer video testimonials, use cases (buttons through to dedicated pages), customer logos, features highlight grid, features narrative, template showcase carousel, integrations showcase/icons, customer written testimonials, call to action and footer area Features Explorer page: a grid of all our features that we will continue to add to, and each feature will have its own dedicated page Features detail page: a page with all the info about a feature, led by a video then supported by paragraphs and appropriate screenshots and images. Many of our features require a full page to cover them in detail (ie: membership sites) needs that. This design will basically be a template we use then when creating all our features pages. Pricing: showcase our pricing plans, monthly/annual signup with focus on conversions. Further down the page selected testimonials, a more detailed "plan comparison" table, FAQ section, footer Resources: is the page where we link to various supporting resources we have in kickpages, so this is like a content index page. We currently have case studies, courses and free gifts so we'd have a section with image and text for each. These would link through to a content page and we'd repurpose the "Features detailed page" for that.
What to avoid
Don't use pink, brown or any really neon/harsh colours
Please check the mockups in the PDF of the general page flow. I want someone creative who really appreciates attention to detail and not just whipping up another generic looking SaaS page - if we wanted that, we'd use a template! Consider the example sites as just an indication, after a short search, of some I like. It is by no means an exhaustive list. The images used to support the information are vital for the "scanning" user who won't read much content. We need these to be really polished and any app screenshots to be as stylised as is necessary to call out important parts and show our platform in the best light possible. The images will hopefully encourage users to investigate further, watch videos and ultimately sign up. For creating things like template previews or screenshots, you can use this test URL we have to find some previewed from our app: https://appsformarketers.com/kptemplates (ignore the menu options on top right as they do not do anything). NOTE: quite a few people asked me what files for delivery. They are listed in the contest and in addition, Figma can also be used for final design files. If in doubt, please message me to ask. EXTRA INFO ADDED: I have decided that a login for our app would help you all with creating screenshots, seeing what the app does etc. You can log in at https://app.kickpages.com u: email@example.com p: !99Designs1000 Anything that gets created by entrants in here, do not delete it.
