How Scott C. started their web page design journey
Who are you known as?
Restoration Sash & Door
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are woodworkers. We manufacture traditional wood windows and doors.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the web page?
Bright pictures of old school woodworking. We want to evoke feelings of: Trustworthy, Old-fashioned, 'Built-to-last', hard working. We want to blend these themes with modern web tools to send the message that we are 'old school' but are smart and modern as well.
1) Home page, 2) About us page & 3) Interior page template
1) Home page - large images of woodworking, references to our services, logo-top left, menu, button for 'Quote now', small 'contact us' form.
2) About us - Team photo (don't worry about actual team-I'll insert that), more woodworking themed imagery, Text area for 'who we are', 'what we do'...etc., Text area for 'Why choose us', Similar 'contact us mini-form'
3) Page template - Header imagery with logo, menu, quote now button, side bar of mini 'contact us' form, and footer layout.
What to avoid
I can't think of anything that I want excluded... I looking primarily for a modern approach to an ancient craft (woodworking and the building of custom, traditional windows and doors).
Start your palette with the maroon color found in the logo and find attractive colors to match. Remember try for a blend of modern with historic.
