This contest is a very specific UI and UX challenge. What needs re-working (actually more than designing) is the booking widget in eatigo.com. See attachments in the brief document (especially step 2)and you can see it live on our beta site eatigo.com During the beta phase eatigo.com is creating very good user engagement, users spend a good time on the site, page views are good, bounce rate is low and the conversion funnel works fine until the very last step in the booking process. Users start the booking process in the widget, then click next and when the time comes to fill out their name, email and phone nr and click confirm the conversion funnel breaks down. Focus Groups have shown that users are: a) worried to give their personal details bc they fear there will be some kind of charge (which there is not!) b) users generally dont know the brand yet c) users dont know what the information is used for d) users do NOT like to read any explanations about this, they just ignore what is written (the page is aimed at Thailand as first market) The challenge is to re-work the existing widget (especially step 2, the part after clicking next) and optimize UI and UX to get the following messages across: 1. There is NO cost to the booking and also cancellations are FREE 2. The information of phone and email is needed for instant booking confirmations sent out via sms and email and go only to the restaurant 3. There are no credit card details or coupons involved The key here is to find a VISUAL way to transport this with as few words as possible.
What to avoid
The logic and structure of the widget needs to be respected. Do not change the information queried just change how it is collected and get the messages across as briefed above with a few words as possible sticking to icons and visual messaging as much as possible, mind you the user does NOT read and they need to be made feel comfortable and confident to enter the information and make the booking.
