Foodio54 got their new web page design by running a design contest:
New website design wanted for Foodio54.com

Foodio54 recommends restaurants based on how similar one user is to other users. Think of Netflix movie recommendations for restaurants. Our target audience would be restaurant customers, but with some consideration to owners/managers and food bloggers.
Overall considerations: -We're open to many design options, however we would like to stick to green as the primary color for the site. We would be open to changing the shade of green if that worked better in your design. -The design should fit a 1024px wide screen (including a scrollbar). -The typography should be web friendly, we are open to changing our fonts, but they shoud be ones that are commonly preinstalled. -The final deliverable should be a layered psd (or png) we can take it from there. -All pages need to have have a consistent header/footer except for the home page. The homepage can have it's own design at your discretion.
1) The home page, http://foodio54.com --The home page needs to include the what/where search boxes and the list of cities and states. The search boxes should be very prominent and the style could deviate from the other pages. The city/state links can be below the fold, but just need to be on the page somewhere. Sign up should be very prominent. --Aside from the search / signup the primary purpose of the homepage should convey that we provide recommendations based on similar users (like Netflix movie recommendations for restaurants) instead of just reviews. --The homepage should not include placement for any ads. 2) Large City Pages, example: http://foodio54.com/restaurants/Austin_TX --For larger cities we show a page that is more of a summary of the restaurants in the city instead of just jumping into the search results. We would like to keep the cuisine/nearby cities/neighborhood links and the add your blog section. We're pretty flexible with changing the rest of it, for the restaurants in which we have pictures they are already sized at 500x500, 150x150, 65x65 and 30x30, but we can resize them to your design scheme, and not all of the restaurants have pictures. --It's also important to keep the blogger review section, however you could change its design. 3) Search Pages, example: http://foodio54.com/restaurants/Austin_TX/5/0/ --We would like to keep the links to the cuisines and nearby cities, but their placement/design could change. --Search pages should include placement for ads, we have a 160x600 now, however we would be open to changing that to a 300x250 if that works in your design. 4) Restaurant Listings, example: http://foodio54.com/restaurant/Austin-TX/c2ff7/Uchiko --We'd like to keep all of the data that we have available here in some fashion: name, address, phone, hours, website, facebook/twitter/youtube accounts, map, link to the menu, and price range. Some listings may be missing one or more of these items. --Also, it's important to keep the regular reviews, blogger reviews, similar restaurants, nearby restaurants, and add your blog section, but the design of all these sections can change. --We would like to emphasize the menu link (about 1/3 of our listings have a menu) and potentially do more with the pictures on the listing pages. We can show more or fewer pictures than we are now.
